This is my second year teaching lessons for Tallahassee Swim School. I am 19 years old. I learned to swim from this program, and yes I am the little baby swimming in the brochure. I am a two time state champion in the 100 butterfly and I have swam at Junior nationals where I placed 13th in the 200 backstroke. I also competed at Olympic Trials in the 200 backstroke in Omaha, Nebraska. I am currently swimming for the University of Florida.
I began swimming when I was 13 years old and immediately fell in love with the sport. I swam competitively for a private club in Hallandale Fl., called the King Tut Swim Team. With this team, I competed in swim meets as well as Open Water swims.I swam for my High School for four years and was Team Captain my Senior year. I worked for several years as a volunteer coach for the South Broward Bulldog’s Novice team in Hollywood Fl. Then worked for one summer as a beginning level swim instructor with Aventura Aquatic Club. After I graduated for high school I moved to Tallahassee and began working as a novice coach with ATAC in April 2007.
I am returning instructor with Talswim, and have experience instructing children as young as 2-years of age. I have been a competitive swimmer with ATAC for more than 8-years, and plan to continue swimming at the collegiate level. I enjoy helping swimmers improve and I have had some of my students move on to competitive swimming with ATAC. Outside of the pool, I am an Eagle Scout, and I enjoy an occasional weekend away from the pool.
I have been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old and I LOVE the water. I went to the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska and have been swimming in the Junior National meets since I was 14. Swimming is my passion, and I love teaching swim lessons and helping others find the enjoyment in swimming. I will be attending the University of Virginia this fall and will be swimming for the university. This is my third year teaching swim lessons, and I only teach morning lessons at Forest Meadows (9-10 A.M.). Morning lessons are favorable due to nice weather (no storms, low sun intensity) and the fact that you have the rest of the day to enjoy summer with your children!
Former competitive swimmer turned triathlete. Graduated from Lincoln High, attending FSU.
I’m Cristina. I ‘m going into my senior year at Chiles High School and have been swimming competitively for 7 years. This will be my second year teaching swim lessons and I’m very excited to do so.
I’m seventeen years old and I’ve been swimming for eleven years this summer. I love being around the water and I really love kids. I’m super excited to teach lessons and am looking forward to meeting new people!
My name is Mauricio Calderon. After living in Bogota, Colombia, my family moved to the United States when I was 4 years old. I am now a graduated 18 year old. I have been swimming for 11 years on Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club. I am committed to swim 4 more at the University of Tampa, beginning in the Fall. The love I have for the sport of swimming is the love I want to share with all of the students I teach. I truly enjoy teaching swimming for safety and fun.
I just finished my junior year of high school. I have been swimming for ten years on ATAC and mostly focus on breaststroke and butterfly. I am hard working and determined to finish anything I start.
